Heavy rain and storm on Monday afternoon felled trees and damaged motor vehicles in a very short time in Bucharest City. Spokesperson for the General Emergency Inspectorate Anca Onofrei reports that 17 trees have so far been felled.
‘There is no report of flooded streets, but the storm so far has splintered 17-20 trees and damaged some 10 motor vehicles. Only two of the vehicles were badly damaged, with the remaining ones having sustained minor damage. None of the damage left human casualties,’ says Onofrei. The National Weather Forecast Administration on Monday issued a now-casting advisory warning of possible heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms in the southern county of Ilfov and Bucharest City 17:20hrs-18:20hrs, local.
