Tax authority declares 86,765 companies inactive in 2009

The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) declared 86,765 tax payers inactive in 2009, as opposed to 783 tax payers proposed to be rendered inactive in 2008, said ANAF head Sorin Blejnar when presenting the institution’s last year report on Tuesday.

The inactive tax payers were withdrawn the VAT payer quality in the tax payers register and, implicitly, the possibility of their carrying out activities within the VAT area, including carrying out reverse VAT charge intra-community operations.

Blejnar said that the six-month payment postponement for the fiscal duties, unpaid on time, was also regulated as a result of the economic crisis and ANAF registered 660 payment postponement applications until now, out of which 413 were approved for a total obligations’ value worth 210 million lei (50 million euros). According to the report, 62.1 million lei were collected from the capitalization on auctioning the seized goods in 2009.
