The Center for Emergencies of the Ministry of the Environment and Forestry (MMP) on Thursday afternoon issued a Red Code hydrological advisory to the prefecture of the northeastern county of Botosani and an Orange Code advisory to the prefectures of the counties of Botosani, Cluj (center-west), Satu Mare (north-west), Teleorman (south); a Yellow Code advisory was also sent to the Arad (west), Bacau (east), Botosani, Cluj, Iasi (east), Neamt (east), Suceava (north-east) and Timis (west) prefectures.
According to a MMP release, the advisory is effective over June 24, 4:00 p.m. and June 25, 4:00 p.m. The authorities warn that water flow rates and levels are expected to rise, also as a crest propagation effect; the water is expected to exceed alert, danger and flood levels, respectively. The affected drainage basins are: Crasna, Somesul Mic, the lower Mures, Valea Cainelui, Siret and Prut.
