More than 133,000 companies became inactive in 2009

More than 133.000 companies became inactive in Romania in 2009, as the result of their demand for suspension of activity registered with the National Trade Register Office (ONRC), according to statistics on the institution’s Web site.

As regards the number of voluntary dissolutions, the ONRC data pointed to an increase by 398.83 percent in the national figure January through December 2009, to 18,766, from 3,762 in 2008.
Moreover, the ONRC data showed in 2009 were recorded as many as 43,615 voluntary dissolutions, accounting for an 147 percent increase against the 2008 figure, when they reached 17,676.
