Rising flood toll in Suceava County

The toll of the flooding that hit the Suceava County (north¬eastern Romania) Monday night is on the rise, having reached 52 damaged localities, dozens of blocked roads and communities cut off power, as seven power lines crashed, 12 were partially damaged and 379 transformer stations were damaged too.

As many as 270 people were evacuated from 52 localities, one was injured, two were killed and eight are reported are missing; 13 households were destroyed and 402 homes are isolated. Teams of the Suceava Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) and fellows from other inspectorates joined forces with local flood relief task forces searching and rescuing endangered persons and acting to mitigate the effects of the flash-floods.
