Romania’s population decreased by 1,891 persons, in June
Romania’s population decreased, in June, by 1.891 people, after a previous decrease in May by 5,181 people, according to data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
In June 2010, Romania reported 18,743 alive newborns (10.6 newborns per 1,000 people), 2,667 less than in May. The country also reported 20,634 deceased in June (11.7 deceased per 1,000 people), 623 less than in May. In June, 153 children died under the age of one year (8.2 children per 1,000 newborns), a higher figure from May. In June 2010, the population decreased by 1,891 persons, while in the same period of 2009 Romania‘s population decreased by 371 persons. The number of children aged under one year old who died in June 2010 was by 14 lower compared with June 2009.
