Senate judicial commission: Senator Catalin Voicu can be remanded in custody
On leaving the hearings in the Senate’s judicial commission, Voicu said he was expecting ‘anything’to happen, including to be taken to prison on Wednesday, if the Senate assents to his arrest; he added he ‘will submit to the decision’.
Voicu, who is accused of corruption, said he was convinced his being remanded in custody will set a precedent. ‘I am convinced that once Pandora’s Box is opened, others will follow, who now sit comfortably and imagine nothing can happen to them’, the Social Democratic senator said.
