Otopeni airport cancels four flights because of volcanic eruption in Iceland

Four flights to Britain and Ireland were canceled on Thursday on the Otopeni Airport in Bucharest, because of the airports on the island being closed after a volcano eruption in Iceland, Valentin Iordache, spokesman of the Otopeni Airport, told.

„We have canceled four flights, a Bucharest-London flight that was scheduled for 5:05, a London-Bucharest flight, scheduled for 11:20, and two Aer Lingus flights, a Dublin-Bucharest flight, that was to take off at 10:10 and a Bucharest – Dublin flight, scheduled to take off at 11:10, „said Valentin Iordache. The air traffic was suspended on Thursday morning in much of northern Europe, due to the lack of visibility caused by the ash spewed from the volcanic eruption in Iceland and the danger represented by these for the jet planes, have announced the air authorities, quoted by the international press agencies.
