Government sticks to its standpoint on letter of intent to IMF

The Government sticks to its standpoint on the letter of intent to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), said Minister of Labour Mihai Seitan at the end of the talks held at the headquarters of Finance Ministry on Tuesday.

He made it clear that they also preserved the measure of cutting all pensions by 15 percent. „Tomorrow [Wednesday] we shall make the final decision. As for the allowance for mothers, it is on the list of the ones to be cut, although we have not yet decided what percentage,” added Seitan.
The Minister of Labour emphasized the fact that a number of allowances would be affected by these diminutions and mentioned, among other things, the allowances for children, the allowances for the disabled persons, but also for the war veterans and political prisoners.
