PM Boc wants to have tax evasion fighting laws in place by Wednesday

Prime Minister Emil Boc called on the representatives of the Inter-Ministerial Group on combating tax evasion that met at the Victoria Palace (the Govt’s offices) on Saturday to complete a set of laws on fighting the phenomenon by Wednesday.

‘There are three things I propose you. Firstly, to have the legal package on combating tax evasion completed by Wednesday, with its additional measures so that the Government may tackle it at a first reading.
Secondly, I want you to enforce firm organisational measures for fighting tax evasion – I have already seen some positive results at the ministries of the interior and finances. Thirdly, I want those who do not enforce the Government’s programme for fighting tax evasion to be removed without notice.

Those who do not enforce the Government’s programme should leave’, Boc said at the meeting. The Inter-Ministerial Group on combating tax evasion gathers all the state relevant authorities – the finances ministry, the National Agency for Tax Management, the interior ministry and its related structures, the Prosecutor’s Office and the justice ministry.
