Romania wins gold and silver in World Junior Rowing Championships in Racice
Romania won two gold medals and a silver one in the World Junior Rowing Championships that took place in Racice, the Czech Republic. The gold went to Alexandra Bizom and Elena-Oltita Hrisca in the women’s coxless pair, 7 minutes 28 seconds 32/100, followed in ranking by Greece and Germany.
Vlad-Dragos Aicoboae, Toader Andrei Gontaru, Marius Vasile Cozmiuc and Cosmin Razvan Bogus won Romania’s second gold medal in the men’s coxless four event with a time of 6 minutes 8 seconds 62/100. Great Britain ranked second and Spain came in third. Laura Oprea won the silver medal in the women’s single scull with 7 minutes 52 seconds 87/100, ranking second after Judith Sievers, Germany, 7 minutes 50 seconds 40/100.
