Unitary pensions law, tacitly adopted by Senate

The unitary pensions law draft was tacitly adopted by the Senate after one of the main amendments supported by the opposition, the one on the pension point accounting for 45 percent of the gross average salary per economy, was rejected by the vote of the majority of MPs from the governmental coalition.

Specifically, the increase of the pension point to 45 percent of the gross average wage was rejected on Monday evening by the senators at a vote difference. The vote result was 51 in favor, 52 against and 3 abstentions. Having been adopted tacitly, the bill will be passed under its initial form, without amendments, to the Chamber of Deputies, even though from the dozens of amendments in the committee several were admitted.
