More than 232 M lei to be allotted from the Environment Fund to reduce effects of floods in 2010
The total value of works to prevent, eliminate and reduce the impact of floods will exceed 232 million lei (about 54.59 million euros), with the money to be allotted from the Environment Fund, according to a release of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MMP).
The amount was approved through Government Resolution, the largest slice, that is 65 million lei, following to be for works to prevent, eliminate and / or reduce the effects of the dangerous weather phenomena over May-July 2010.
Moreover, another 30 million lei, to be allotted in the form of non-reimbursable financing from the Environment Fund Administration (AFM), will be distributed to Iasi (east), Tulcea (eastern), Harghita (central) and Covasna (central) counties.
The same Government Resolution approved also the allotment of 20 million lei for works to eliminate the effects of the natural disasters caused by floods over May to July 2010 in the Suceava County (north-east).
In addition, the normative act stipulates the allotment from the AFM budget of 15 million lei in the form of non-reimbursable financing for supporting works under Phase I, the investment objective ‘Landslides stabilization works and rebuilding of access roads between the Malu cu Flori and Pucheni villages, in Dambovita County (south).” Thus, the total value of works to be carried out and supported by the Environment Fund in 2010 will amount to 232.5 million lei.
